Water Solutions for your home & Landscape

Tired of dealing with water issues? We have solutions!

Learn more about rain gardens, dry creek beds, retaining walls and French drains and how they can enhance and protect your landscape.

A rain garden is a natural solution for water issues

Why a rain garden?

If you have an area that regularly retains water, or directs water toward your home, we can help disperse the water in a way that is beautiful and effective. Rain gardens can benefit you AND the environment. In addition to providing valuable habitat for birds, butterflies and many beneficial insects, rain gardens increase the amount of rain water that filters into the ground, recharging local aquifers. They also help reduce pollution carried by stormwater. Plants with deep roots are nature's tool for slowing down the flow of water, and with a carefully designed blend of plants, rock and slope, we can make a dramatic and aesthetic difference in your landscaping. Turn an ordinary part of your yard into an extraordinary focal point.

A dry creek bed redirects drainage and flood water

Why a dry creek bed?

A dry creek bed helps to manage a common landscape challenge...drainage. In some situations, a dry creek bed simply directs and disperses water that would typically puddle and stand for a few days. In other cases, a dry bed can transform into a temporary stream, redirecting water away from buildings and foundations, preventing flooding or damage to the foundation.

In the process, it adds beauty to the setting, whether wet or dry. If your yard is plagued with a soggy area after downpours or a slope that is eroding, a dry creek bed redirects water. Dry creek beds can also reduce the mosquito population by removing the standing water issue. By creating a channel, a dry creek drains water when insufficient slope fails to do so. We have the heavy equipment needed to deal with large or small water drainage issues, and we can create a pleasing blend of rocks and plant material that will endure this unique environment.

Prevent erosion with a natural stone retaining wall

Why a retaining wall?

Whether you are struggling with a slope that is too steep, or a hillside that is eroding with each rainfall, we can help create a permanent solution to your problem. Increase curb appeal or just make your outdoor space a destination where you want to linger. Retaining walls are typically designed around a theme that ties into your home's features and distinguishing materials. Visit the nursery to select either angular or naturally shaped stones.

Redirect water with french drains

Why a French drain?

We have assisted many home owners with excess pooling water through the redirection of water using a French drain.  Improper drainage can lead to standing water in your yard, killing grass and ornamentals, while creating a breeding ground for those pesky mosquitoes. When that water is in close proximity to a foundation, it can also lead to leaky basements, mold and mildew buildup, and in extreme cases, damage to the concrete itself. French drains (which in fact, are not French at all, but acquired the name in 1859 from their creator Henry Flagg French), are designed to naturally carry water away from trouble areas in your yard, allowing the water to safely and slowly seep into the ground.
