Second Nature at Reads Creek is a destination nursery, greenhouse, gift shop and landscape design center. Set in the rural Driftless region of Southwestern Wisconsin, the nursery is nestled in a verdant valley along a meandering Class A trout stream just 7 miles south of Viroqua. About Us
TRULY A DESTINATION NURSERY
The setting radiates a slow-down, take-in, look and linger atmosphere just south of Viroqua. The site has a decades’ long history of horticultural endeavors. Our family has worked hard each year to enhance and expand the nursery, creating more and more opportunities to share it with our community. From eagle watching to splashing in the creek to a picnic on our porch, you may come for the plants but you will stay for the experience!
WANDER AND WONDER
With the vast collections of annual and perennial plants offered,
it makes finding that elusive something special for your garden feel like a drifty pleasure-hunt. This is not your typical quick-stop, parking lot, rush-rush garden center. We encourage everyone to wander
and wonder, dream and plan, and find the colors, textures,
shapes, and sizes that speak to your heart. Enjoy our koi pond and be sure to ask about how a new landscape design or pond installation could enhance the feel of your personal sanctuary.

PLAN YOUR ROAD TRIP TODAY
Our nursery is a safe haven, a place of renewal and rejuvenation, and a place where the worries of the outside world fade away as you begin to stroll amongst the plants and listen to the water coursing over the rocks in the valley. You can find us at S7301Hwy 14/61 just north of Readstown, Wisconsin. The rocking chairs on the porch
overlooking the valley are calling your name.
WINTER WONDERLAND
In November each year, the nursery is transformed into a winter wonderland. Days at the nursery are filled with creative workshops, visits from Santa & Mrs. Claus, Christmas tree sales, sleigh rides, a unique hot cocoa bar, and holiday shopping in the gift shop.
